5th Entry: Multicharacter, Chespirito

When I was a kid all I did was sit around the house watching TV. From the time I got home from school I immediately turned the set on and I began looking for something that caught my attention. When I was in elementary for around three or two years the first show that I watched when I got home was "Chespirito". Roberto Gomez Bolaños is known for his stage name as "Chespirito". In this show he had different segments with different characters and honestly if your were a kid you wanted to be all of his characters.

Here is a list of my top five characters that this guy created over time.

5.- Chaparron Bonaparte: Along with Lucas, this character was the crazy one, and yes crazy in that sense of the word. With phrases like Lucas: "Digame Licenciado", Chaparron: "Licenciado", or "No hay de queso nomas de papa" this character always made other have an uncomfortable and awkward time around him.

4.- El Chanfle: he was the utility guy from CA America. With a noble heart, he was always doing the right thing. When a penalty kick was whistled in favor of his team he protested because the fault never existed. In the same was he backed out on a car in a supermarket and told the cashier only to find out is was her car. He is later promoted to be the little leagues coach of the team with a humorous scene dropping and breaking everything in his path before signing the contract.

3.- El Chompiras: once a robber, he and his partner "El Botija" now live an honest life. He is very kind but very naive and it is because of this that his partner is taking his hat of, combing his hair and giving him a slap that makes him spin 360. Along other characters like his partners wife and a police officer these guys will make you laugh every time you catch their show.

2.- El Chapulin Colorado: "No contaban con mi astucia". This guy is the best superhero, I would choose him over any Avenger in a heartbeat. His lack of strength or overall superiority of the villain put him in situations that are funny as hell. To have him by your side all you have to say is "Oh, y ahora quien podra ayudarme/defenderme?" and he will pop out of the blue.

1.- El Chavo del Ocho: With any doubt Chespirito's most successful and recognized character, El Chavo lived in a barrel and was an orphan. He and his friends all lived in a apartment complex and there, along with the neighbors they had so much fun. His success was in part because it was directed to kids and taught them valuable lessons at the time that he was making them laugh. "Se me chispoteo" or "Esque no me tienen paciencia" were one of his most common phrases.

Mr. Roberto Gomez Bolaños I just have one thing to say to you: Thank you for my childhood and all the smiles that you have been putting on my face during all the years your shows have been on the air.

4th Entry: Basically the same plot

Ok guys, I know there is a trend going on about zombie apocalypse. The first movie I saw about zombies was Resident Evil. The plot is about a giant corporation called Umbrella. They mask themselves as good guys but in reality they were developing bioweaponry. The creation of a powerful weapon called the T-Virus was in fact to help cure a disease. Unfortunately something went wrong. Infection started to spread, turning every one dead into living again. The movie franchise is adapted from a successful line of video games. I really like it.

Here is a picture of the video game:

And here is one about the movie:

After a while a sequel was released and then a third movie followed by the latest production, Apocalypse, Extinction and Afterlife respectively. A fifth installment is in production at the time.

I remember talking to a friend once upon a time and saying that we really liked a movie called 28 Days Later. I asked 'what is it about?' he replied that it was about people escaping from infected people that had a virus that turned them into flesh eating freaks. 'Oh kinda like Resident Evil, so you must like Resident Evil too?'... 'No, I don't like the movies or anything to do with Resident Evil'... Naturally my reaction was a little like this meme:

And why is my reaction like this... well basically both movies have the same premise. In Resident Evil people are trying to get away from infection so they don't turn into zombies and in 28 Days Later people are simply trying to get away from infected people so they won't get bitten by them. For me there are two differences in the plots. Resident Evil has highly trained people that fight for survival and help people along the way and in 28 Days later it is ordinary people the one that has to fight. In addition, in 28 Days Later the infection will killed the carrier if it does not consumer blood or sustenance within 28 days, hence the name. In Resident Evil the only way to stop infection is with a cure otherwise they will only continue to look for food. In Resident Evil is said that a bullet to the head or even a kick with the enough strength will be enough to stop a zombie.

Here is a picture of the movie 28 Days Later:

In my opinion there are slight differences between this two movies, but the main idea of survival is present in the plot. In one escaping from flesh eating zombies and the other one escaping from infected people to avoid being bitten. I would believe that someone who likes 28 Days Later would like Resident Evil.

3rd Entry: Heroes From The Past

Ok so how many of you remember your childhood heroes, I do. Recently I finished watching the whole animated series of number 4 in this countdown. Hey, what is wrong with watching cartoons? We need to stay young and remember the good cartoon series from when we were little kids. I hope you enjoy the countdown. Here is number 5

5.- Optimus Prime: Everyone knows this guy from the acclaimed movie from Michael Bay... But when I was a kid Optimus didn't look like a tractor. What are your saying R.D.? Well what I am saying is that when I first met Optimus he was actually an ape. An ape? Yep, an ape. Remember Beast Wars? This was the first series where I met Optimus and the other transformers. No Bumblebee but it was a really good series, not your conventional 2D cartoon and it was awesome.

4.- Spider-Man: Ok so Hollywood has made children know 5 and 4 of my list with movie adaptations the T.V. series and/or comic books. For me Spider-Man the Animated Series was awesome. It actually gives you more villains than the movie franchise does. It also puts Peter Parker in situations with other superheroes - all from the Marvel Universe - in an alliance against villains. I know that each adaptation varies from the comic books to the TV series to the movie, but Spider-Man the Animated Series is really awesome and each Saturday I would wake up at 7 a.m. turned on Fox kids and started watching it.

3.- Oliver Atom (Captain Tsubasa): The alternative name sucks, the Latin Spanish name is better. Ok so for those of you who don't know who Oliver is a little kid from Japan, whose dream is to become the soccer player. For this he starts in an underdog team and leads it to the top - go figure. After that he plays for the Japan National Team in a kinda under 17 cup. He then goes to Brazil and plays in a team were he was recommended. After he did Brazil he went to Spain. Throughout his career he meets powerful rivals and allies as well. Oh no lets not forget that every time they kicked the ball, it took around three episodes for the ball to get to the goal.

2.- Seiya: This series teaches you not to give up and to fight all that it's in your way to defend what you believe its right. Seiya, along with the other Saints defend the Earth from other powerful Saints which powers come from The Constellations. This series is based on Greek Mythology, and they also have elements of Norse mythology in one of the seasons. This is were I learned to love mythology and the series is very long so if you like anime and want to relieve your childhood, this is a cartoon to watch. Around 5 seasons and 5 movies to watch this series will not be something to regret.

1.- Goku: I don't even need to explain who Goku is. People, he died for us, returned to life to save us again and went to different parts of the universe fighting enemies more powerful than him in order to preserve the forces of good. If you like Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball GT, or Dragonball Z Kai (personally not a big fan) you know who Goku is and you know what he is worth in the heart of a kid. A character like Goku has no limits, has no selflessness, only fears not being able to protect the ones he loves. This character will always be my childhood hero.

I hope everyone enjoyed this list - I know I did. This cartoons take me back to my childhood and I can see them anytime and I wont get sick of them. I hope everyone takes this list and consider what are your favorite cartoon character from your childhood that became your heroes.

Who are your childhood heroes? Comment and let me know what you watch in your childhood.

2nd Entry: Comedy Sitcoms

Ok guys, I know that not all of you are rock music lovers but here is a post of something that everyone loves, SITCOMS!!!

Here are my 5 Top Sitcoms... tell me what are your 5 Top Sitcoms

5.- Familia P. Luche: I cross the line this time, the border line that is. I am from Mexico, it is only natural that I am gonna post sitcoms from Mexico. This show along with number 4 of the list, made my childhood. Ludovico, Federica, Ludoviquito, Biby and Junior always made me laugh. Ludovico's stupidity and Federicas sexual drive always made you say.. whaaa??? Not forgetting Biby la rara... Porque Biby no puede ser una niña normal. Everyone remembers her when someone is not acting normal or saying weird stuff. Don't forget to catch Eugenio Derbez on CBS new comedy show ROB

4.- Chespirito: Roberto Gomez Bolaños made my childhood awesome with characters such as El Chavo, El Chompiras, El Dr. Chapatin, El Chapulin Colorado and endless more. He is a comedy idol in Mexico and recently he was honored by all latin america in a show that hold up the standard to what comedy stands for. Everytime one of his characters is on TV I seriously drop everything and just laugh and laugh and laugh. He deserves to be among my top sitcoms.

3.- The Big Bang Theory: That's his spot... Big Bang Theory is place 3rd on my list. Dr. Hofstadter, Dr. Cooper, Mr. Wolowitz and Dr. Koothrappali along side with Penny (funny that no one knows her last name) and Amy Farrah Fowler have made me laugh episode after episode. The awkward/awesome moment when you understand what Leonard and Sheldon are talking about. This show is a mixture of smart scientists thinking with their second brain, except for Sheldon. For Dr. Cooper the less interaction with the human species the better. This show will crack you up and you will not find a way to seal the crack.

2.- How I Met Your Mother: I started watching this show about three years ago (give or take) because it was recommended by one of my coworkers. I heard about the show but was kind of hesitant to see it but nevertheless, the power of free time and Internet made me looked at the pilot, and then another one, and another one and soon enough in less than 2 weeks I got to see 4 and a half seasons of this show. Ted, Robin, Marshall, Lily and Barney always find a way to make me laugh, in McClarens or in any other place.

1.- FRIENDS: could this show BE anymore funny? If anyone tries to challenge that this show does not deserve to be here you are WRONG!!! Who doesn't like Joey's line 'how u doin', Phoebe's eccentric personality, Monica's constant need for control, Chandler's sense of humor, Ross's always wanting to be right and Rachel's gullable self. This is memorable and even more memorable it is that my sister and I know almost every line of the show. FRIENDS will always be my number 1 sitcom.

These are my 5 Top Sitcoms... Tell me what are yours, raise your voice, discuss people

1st Entry: Music

Ok guys... as I write my first blog entry what come to mind is Barney Stinson writing on his blog.

Music lover Suit Up... because this entry is gonna be legen, wait for it, dary... no not so much but I'll do my best.

Since the first time I listen to "Falling Away From Me" from Korn I've been in love with rock music. Korn, Limp Bizkit, Metallica, Kid Rock (went alittle country for my taste), Godsmack, Kiss, specially 70's and 80's bands.

So I'm gonna leave you with a list of my 5 Top Rock Bands/Performer (If you disagree with me that's fine). Share with me your 5 Top Rock Bands/Performer. This way you get to know me a little better and I will get to know a side of you that I never knew.

Number 5 : Alice Cooper, since I first saw him with the Muppets, even when I didn't knew who he was, it was awesome listening to his music. Here are my 3 favorite songs from him:
1.- School's Out For Summer
2.- I'm Eighteen
3.- Poison

Number 4: KISS, yes I belong to the KISS Army, even when I was mocked and ridiculed by listening to this music when I was in 8th grade. I love a pretty great amount of their songs and its hard to decide but here are my top 3:
1.- I Wanna Rock n' Roll All Night
2.- Love Gun
3.- Hotter than Hell

Number 3: Ozzy Osbourne, yes the prince of darkness. Ever since I heard Crazy Train I have loved his songs and here are my 3 favorite songs from your majesty:
1.- Gets Me Through
2.- Crazy Train
3.- Paranoid (I know that it's from when he was with Black Sabbath but come on it needs to be here)

Number 2: Metallica, giving us fuel, giving us fire and giving us that which we desire. Since 5th grade and "I disappear" I love Metallica. All my music devices need to have this band's music in it or else it would not be a complete playlist. Hard to decide but here they are, top 3:
1.- Master of Puppets
2.- One
3.- Turn the Page

Number 1: Slipknot, mostly because of Core Taylor, this group has generated great controversy because of the image they have. The music, contrary to popular belief, is awesome and it speaks many of the ideas and the feelings that we have and are not able to speak out loud.
1.- Psychosocial
2.- Before I Forget
3.- Wait and Bleed

This are my 5 Top Rock Bands... How do you feel about them??? Agree, Disagree??? Which are your 5 Top Rock Bands???
